Curriculum vitae
Dr. Inci Derya YÜCEL graduated in psychology from Hacettepe University in 2010. She earned a master’s degree in family counseling from Ege University in 2015 and a second master’s degree in substance abuse in 2019 with a dissertation on individuals with substance use problems under probation supervision. In 2025, she completed her Ph.D. at Ege University with a dissertation on developing a digital environment–supported intervention for individuals with tobacco addiction.
She has professional experience in education, psychological counseling centers, and as an assistant manager in a private hospital. Between 2012 and 2020, she worked as a psychologist at the Izmir Probation Directorate of the Ministry of Justice, providing support to individuals with substance use disorders.
For the academic year 2025–2026, she is a postdoctoral researcher at the Swiss Research Institute for Public Health and Addiction (ISGF), University of Zurich, supported by the ESKAS (Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship). She also holds a lecturer position at the Institute on Drug Abuse, Toxicology and Pharmaceutical Science at Ege University in Türkiye.
Her research focuses on tobacco addiction, particularly harm reduction, prevention and internet-based interventions. She is a certified Mindfulness Trainer and Solution-Focused Psychotherapist and has published nationally and internationally in the field of addiction.
